Elecampane

Description

Elecampane – herbal extract, used as a special food additive for various diseases of the digestive system and gastrointestinal tract.

Trade name: Elecampane.

Pharmaceutical form: extract.

Composition of the herbal complex:  Elecampane – Inula helenium L.

Pharmacological effect:
on digestive system and organs of the gastrointestinal tract: cholagogue; reduces intestinal motility; reduces gastric secretion; stimulates the production of bile; improves appetite; antihelmintic;
on other organs and systems: anti-inflammatory; antiseptic; expectorant (improves expectoration); normalizes metabolism; increases diuresis; weak diuretic.

Indications:
1. Diseases of the digestive system and organs of the gastrointestinal tract:  gastritis with increased secretion; colitis; enterocolitis; diarrhea of infectious origin; lack of appetite; hemorrhoids; liver disease; worm infestation (alantolakton acts on ascarids about 25 times stronger than santonine); cholecystitis; gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer; pancreatitis.
2. Diseases of the respiratory system: tracheitis; bronchitis; cough with sputum; asthma; pneumonia; emphysema; pulmonary tuberculosis (thus reducing sputum, improves health, calms cough); whooping cough.
3. Skin  diseases: skin diseases of not infectious nature (as a blood-purifying agent), eczema; atopic dermatitis; in cases when skin allergic process combined with bronchial asthma or helminthic infestation).
4. Diseases of the genitourinary system: kidney diseases; painful and irregular menstruation.
5. Diseases of circulatory and cardiovascular system: anemia; high blood pressure; hypertension; tachycardia.
6. Diseases of other organs and systems: rheumatism; diabetes; dropsy; malaria.
7. Diseases of the nervous system: headache; epilepsy.

Special warnings: individual intolerance to the components of the preparation.

Administration: to be administered on doctor’s recommendations.

Dosage: recommended dose is 10 drops, 3 times a day to be taken with 30 ml of still non-mineral water in 30 min before meals. Duration of treatment 4-12 weeks.

Side effects: none.  The preparation is not toxic. Has no cumulative properties and does not cause side effects.
